There are many great tools available to help solve all kinds of problems, but just having the tool ensures neither the skill to use it, nor the will to use it.

Driving organizational change and results requires your supervisors and managers to have more than a set of basic skills and tools – they need to have the expectations, support and encouragement of their managers to use these skills and tools to get real results.

But even more importantly, we need to understand what the performance gaps are within the organization. Before we can prescribe the solution, we must understand the performance gaps and causes.

If we provide training without understanding the performance gaps, setting performance expectations, measuring progress and providing consequences, your supervisors and managers will be better trained; but continue the same behaviors, which will predictably lead to the same results. No change.

The Engagement Effect Approach

We conduct a needs-based organizational needs assessment. What is the business need for change? What are the performance gaps? What are the causes? What are the most effective interventions?
Using an Impact Map, we clearly align the business needs for change and how they align with the strategy. Key performance indicators, results, behaviors and skills are all mapped.
Setting expectations
Using an Action Plan, supervisors and managers are briefed by their managers about what is expected, how it will be measured and what consequences will drive the new behaviors.
Creating organizational change (driving engagement and higher morale, for instance) requires focus, vision and everyone understand how it will be accomplished. We help to create the mindset for change and coach change agents.
Once we know what performance/behaviors will drive our desired results and we have identified the skill gaps, we provide a toolset for supervisors and managers that will help them get results. Then, using the Action Planning process, we enlist the help of the direct manager to provide support and coaching to get these results.
Measurement, behaviors and consequences
Behaviors usually never change unless consequences change. We help organizations fulfill the promise of change and results by helping to ensure there is a culture of accountability, measurement and results. Simple dashboards of behavior and feedback are simple tools to ensure that the desired behaviors are getting the desired results.
